Create Your TimberCloud Account

Welcome to TimberCloud! Creating an account is the first step toward transforming how you sell custom products online. The signup process takes just a few minutes, and you can have your first products listed the same day.

TimberCloud gives you three ways to create an account and log in. You can use whichever you prefer — they all reach the same account, and each of them doubles as a way to sign up if you're brand new.

Method	How it works	Good for
Email & password	Enter your email and choose a password. Standard sign-in.	Most people; the default.
Continue with Google	One click signs you in (or signs you up) with your Google account — no separate password to remember.	Anyone with a Google/Gmail account.
Email me a magic link	Enter your email and we send you a one-time sign-in link. Click it and you're in — no password at all.	Passwordless sign-in; also signs up a brand-new email automatically.

Tip: The "Continue with Google" button and the "Email me a magic link" option appear on both the login page and the create-account page. If the email is new to TimberCloud, either one creates your account for you — there's no separate "sign up" step to complete first.

Getting Started

What You'll Need

If you sign up with email and password, have the following ready:

A valid email address
A strong password (at least 8 characters)

That's it! You can add company details after creating your account. If you sign up with Continue with Google or a magic link, you don't need to pick a password at all. If you start a paid plan, you'll add a payment method during the onboarding wizard (see Free Trial below); the permanent Free plan never asks for a card.

Tip: To skip the password entirely, click Continue with Google or Email me a magic link on either page instead of filling in the form below.

Step 2: Enter Your Information

If you're signing up with email and password, fill out the signup form with your details:

First Name	Yes	Used to personalize your experience
Last Name	Yes	Your full name appears on communications
Phone Number	No	Optional, for account recovery and support

Password Requirements

For account security, your password should:

Be at least 8 characters long
Include a mix of uppercase and lowercase letters
Include at least one number
Not be a commonly used password

Step 3: Review Terms and Privacy

Before creating your account, review and agree to:

Terms of Service — Your rights and responsibilities when using TimberCloud
Privacy Policy — How we collect, use, and protect your data

You must tick the "I agree to the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy" box to create your account — the Create User Account button stays disabled until you do.

Separately, there is an optional, unticked checkbox to receive occasional product updates and tips by email. Leaving it unchecked has no effect on signup, and you can unsubscribe at any time. For more on how we handle cookies, consent, and your data rights, see Privacy & Your Data.

Step 4: Verify Your Email

If you signed up with email and password, you'll verify your email before continuing:

Check your email inbox for a verification message
Click the verification link in the email
You'll be redirected to log in with your new account

Note: Signing up with Continue with Google or a magic link verifies your email automatically — Google confirms it for you, and clicking a magic link proves you own the inbox — so there's no separate verification step for those two methods.

Didn't receive the email?

Check your spam/junk folder
Make sure you entered your email correctly
Click "Resend verification email" on the login page
Contact support@timbercloud.com if issues persist

Step 5: Log In and Get Started

With your email verified, log in to access your TimberCloud dashboard at app.timbercloud.com.

After verifying, the first decision is whether you're here to sell or to buy:

Create a Company — Set up your own business to sell your products. This is the path for shop owners and their staff.
Become a Customer — Browse, order, and track orders from a business that already sells on TimberCloud. See Become a Customer.

Most people reading these docs are here to sell, so they create a company.

A second fork: Start Free vs. a paid plan

When you choose Create a Company, you pick how you want to start — and this is a real fork with two separate paths:

Start Free — a permanent $0, inquiry-only shop. No credit card. You go through a short, Free-only setup (just your store details), and your catalog is live for collecting quote requests. See The Free Plan.
A paid plan (with a 14-day trial) — the full paid onboarding wizard: Choose Plan → Payment → Company Details → Terms. Monthly Commerce and Build start with a 14-day full-feature free trial; Production is also selectable, and Enterprise is contact-sales. See Free Trial below and Subscriptions & Plans.

Note: Free is not a choice you make midway through the paid wizard — it has its own separate signup and setup path. Pick Start Free up front if you want the no-card plan.

Free Trial

When you create a company on a monthly paid plan — the trial is currently offered on Commerce and Build (monthly) — you get a 14-day, full-feature free trial. Every feature in that plan is unlocked for the full 14 days, with no caps on products, orders, or customers. You start the trial by completing the paid onboarding wizard: Choose Plan → Payment → Company Details → Terms.

Important: A credit card is required to start a paid-plan trial. You will not be charged during the trial. Your first payment is collected automatically when the 14 days end, and you can cancel anytime before then with no charge. To end the trial early and start your subscription immediately, use Activate subscription now under Settings → Company.

During the trial your subscription status shows as "trialing." When it ends, it converts to an active paid subscription on your chosen plan.

Note: You can take live customer payments during the trial — you don't have to end it first. Live payments turn on once you finish Stripe Connect onboarding and switch test mode off. See Billing.

Prefer to start without a card? Choose the permanent Free plan instead — it's $0 forever, requires no payment method, and runs an inquiry/quote-only storefront (no payments, up to 5 published products). You can upgrade to a paid plan at any time.

Here's the recommended path to get your store live:

Step 1: Set up your business

✓ Create your account (you're here!)
Create your company — Add business details
Choose a subscription plan — Pick Free, Commerce, Build, Production, or Enterprise

Step 2: Build your catalog

Create your first product — Add name, description, and options
Set up pricing — Use the Formula Builder or the AI Pricing Assistant for variable pricing
Add product images — Upload photos for your catalog

Step 3: Build your website

Build your website — On paid plans, TimberCloud auto-generates a branded, white-label hosted website from your company profile and catalog. Review and edit it in the Site Builder, then publish.
Connect a custom domain (optional) — Point your own domain at your hosted site, with automatic SSL.

Step 4: Configuration

Configure shipping — Set up packaging and delivery options
Set up payments — Connect Stripe to accept payments (paid plans only)
Customize your storefront — Adjust selling mode and checkout settings

Step 5: Go Live

Embed on your website — Or share your hosted site link / custom domain
Test the checkout flow — Place a test order
Launch! — Share with your customers

Tip: You don't have to choose between the two front-ends — the hosted website and the embeddable storefront both run from the same catalog, so you can use either or both.

Use a unique, strong password (or skip passwords entirely with Continue with Google or magic-link sign-in)
Don't share your login credentials
Log out when using shared computers

Go to the login page
Click "Forgot Password?"
Enter your email address
Check your email for reset instructions
Create a new password

Managing Your Account

After creating your account, you can manage your profile settings:

Profile Settings

Update your name and contact information
Change your password
View and switch between the companies you belong to

Joining an Existing Company

If you've been invited to join an existing TimberCloud company:

Check your email for the invitation
Click the invitation link
Create your account (or log in if you already have one)
You'll automatically be added to the company with the assigned role

Your access level depends on the role assigned by the company administrator.

Troubleshooting

Common Issues

"Email already registered"

You may already have an account. Try logging in or resetting your password.

Verification email not received

Check spam/junk folders
Add noreply@timbercloud.com to your contacts
Request a new verification email from the signup page

Unable to log in after signup

Make sure you've verified your email
Check that you're using the correct email and password
Try resetting your password
