Shop Floor & Production

The Shop section is where you run placed orders across the physical shop floor: moving them into production, checking off work at each station, inspecting them, and handing them to shipping. It is the manufacturing command center for cabinet shops and custom fabricators.

Availability: The Shop suite — the production Tracking dashboard, Schedule, QC, the Inventory dashboard, and the Scanner — is a Production plan (and Enterprise) feature. On lower plans you'll see an "Upgrade to Production" prompt when you open a Shop page. Shipping and package tracking are the exception — they unlock earlier, on Commerce. See Subscriptions & Plans.

Start here: go to Shop → Tracking

Clicking the top-level Shop item in the left navigation lands you on a legacy Shop Management page. The big status numbers across the top of that page are placeholder figures, not your live data, and most of the real work has moved to the newer pages one level down.

Important: Don't judge your shop by the numbers on the top-level Shop page — they're placeholders. Your real, live production dashboard is at Shop → Tracking. Start there.

Expand Shop in the left nav and you'll find:

The Scanner is reached from the Scanner button in the top bar, not the left nav.

Set this up first

Before the Shop pages do anything useful, two setup steps matter. Both live in Settings, not in the Shop pages themselves.

  1. Create at least one Location — go to Settings → Company → Locations. Every order is fulfilled from a location, and stations are scoped to a location. With no location, the tracking flow has nowhere to run.
  2. Define your Stations — go to Settings → Shop → Stations. Stations are the steps an order passes through on your floor (for example Cut → Assemble → Sand → Finish → Pack). You name each one, give it a color, choose which locations it belongs to, and drag them into the order work happens. That order drives the checkbox flow on the tracking board.

Tip: Because stations are location-scoped, different shops can have completely different workflows. A cabinet shop and a finishing-only satellite location don't have to share the same stations.

The production flow

Once locations and stations exist, orders move through the Shop in a natural sequence:

  1. A placed order appears in Tracking → Pending.
  2. You move it to In Production.
  3. Your team checks off each station as work is finished — or scans the order's QR code at each station with the Scanner.
  4. When every station is checked, a Complete button sends the order on to QC for inspection.
  5. After it passes QC, the order flows to the Shipping dashboard to be packed, booked, and tracked.

The Schedule page is the planning and analytics companion to Tracking: a calendar of station events plus a Production Insights panel that surfaces your throughput, bottlenecks, average lead time, and on-time rate.

Multi-location

Every Shop page has a Location Selector at the top right. Pick a single location to focus on one shop, or choose All Locations to see everything combined. Your selection follows you as you move between pages.

Note: Tracking stock and orders across multiple locations (multi-warehouse) is itself a Production-tier capability. A single location works on any plan that includes the feature. See Locations.

Build Sheets

Throughout the Shop pages, the eye icon next to an order generates its Build Sheet (also called a Cut Sheet) — a PDF with line-item specifications, dimensions, materials, and production notes. On desktop it opens in a preview modal; on mobile it opens directly in a new tab. See Build Sheet Builder to customize what appears on it.
