Shop Management

The Shop section in TimberCloud provides a comprehensive suite of tools for managing your production workflow, from receiving orders through shipping finished products. It serves as your central hub for tracking orders through production stages, managing quality control, handling packaging and shipping logistics, and monitoring inventory levels.

Important: The Shop section — production workflow, the Inventory dashboard, the Scanner, and the mobile app — is a Production-plan (and Enterprise) feature. On lower plans you'll see an upgrade prompt when you open it. See Subscriptions & Plans for what each tier unlocks.

Overview

Access the Shop section from the Shop tab in the main navigation. The Shop is organized into the following areas:

Note: Quality Control is reached through the QC tab on the Order Tracking dashboard (or directly at /shop/qc). The standalone Schedule page is a newer addition for planning production timing.

Location-Based Workflow

TimberCloud supports multi-location operations. Throughout the Shop section, you'll find a Location Selector that allows you to:

• View a specific location - Filter all data to a single shop/fulfillment location
• View all locations - See combined data across your entire operation

Note: Locations are configured in Settings → Company → Locations. If you don't have any shop locations set up, you'll see a prompt to create one. Tracking inventory across multiple locations (multi-warehouse) is a Production-tier feature — see Locations.

Order Lifecycle

Orders flow through the Shop in a defined sequence. Each stage has its own management tools:

Order Tracking Dashboard

The Order Tracking page (Shop → Tracking) is your primary production management tool. It displays real-time metrics and provides tabs for each order stage:

Dashboard Metrics

At the top of the page, you'll see key metrics:

• Pending Orders - Orders waiting to enter production
• In Production - Orders currently being manufactured
• In Quality Control - Orders awaiting inspection
• Late Orders - Orders past their due date

Quality Control

The Quality Control system ensures products meet your standards before shipping:

1. QC Dashboard - View all orders ready for inspection
2. QC Detail Page - Inspect individual line items
3. Mark Complete - Progress orders to packaging

When an order is marked complete after QC:

• Status changes to "Completed"
• Order appears in the Shipping Dashboard's Packaging tab
• Packaging configuration becomes available

Shipping Dashboard

The Shipping Dashboard (Shop → Shipping) handles the logistics of getting orders to customers:

• Live rate shopping across an integrated carrier network (small parcel + LTL freight) — you don't connect or manage your own carrier accounts
• In-app label generation
• Real-time tracking integration

Note: Carrier rate-shopping, booking, and label printing (Carrier Services) are included on Build, Production, and Enterprise. On Commerce they require the Carrier & Freight Services add-on ($99/mo). See Shipping and Shipping overview.

Inventory Management

The Inventory page (Shop → Inventory) provides location-based stock tracking:

Features

• Location filtering - View inventory for specific locations or combined
• Search & filter - Find items by name, category, or stock level
• Low stock alerts - Identify items needing replenishment
• Category grouping - Organize by product attribute

What Gets Tracked

• Product option inventory - Stock levels for product variations
• Product addons - Inventory for add-on items

Build Sheets / Cut Sheets

Throughout the Shop section, you can access Build Sheets (also called Cut Sheets) for any order:

• Click the eye icon next to an order to preview the build sheet
• On desktop, this opens a preview modal
• On mobile, the PDF opens directly in a new tab

Build sheets provide detailed production instructions including:

• Line item specifications
• Dimensions and measurements
• Material requirements
• Special instructions

Quick Actions

Moving Orders to Production

Individual Order:

1. Go to Shop → Tracking → Pending Orders
2. Click the + icon next to the order

Bulk Move:

1. Select multiple orders using checkboxes
2. Click "Move to Production" button
3. Confirm the action

Progressing Through Stations

1. Go to Shop → Tracking → In Production
2. Click station checkboxes to mark completion
3. When all stations are complete, click + to move to QC

Completing QC

1. Go to Shop → Tracking → QC (or open the QC page directly)
2. Review and inspect line items
3. Click the checkmark to mark complete

Permissions

Access to Shop features is controlled by role permissions:

Contact your administrator if you need access to Shop features. Note that the Shop surface as a whole also requires your company to be on the Production plan or higher.

Mobile App

On the Production plan (and Enterprise), the TimberCloud Mobile App brings shop management to the production floor. Your team can perform key operations directly from their mobile devices without returning to a computer.

Mobile Shop Features

Note: The mobile app and scanner are Production-tier features. Inventory Receiving additionally relies on Purchasing, which is a Build-and-up capability — so receiving on mobile requires a Production-plan company (for the app) that also has Purchasing enabled.
