Pages

Your hosted website is made up of pages — a Home page plus as many About, Service, FAQ, Contact, Legal, or Custom pages as your plan allows. This is where you create those pages, organize them, search them, duplicate or delete them, and keep an eye on your page count.

Note: The hosted website (Site Builder) is included on Commerce and higher. The Free plan does not include it. See Subscriptions & Plans for what each tier unlocks.

Where pages live

In the dashboard sidebar, open Website → Pages. You'll see a list of every page on your site. Each row shows the page title, its URL path (slug), its editorial status, and when it was last edited. From here you can:

  • Create a new page (blank or AI-drafted)
  • Open a page in the editor (click the row)
  • Search across all your pages
  • Duplicate or Delete a page (row menu)

To start editing, click any page row to open it in the page editor.

Creating a page

Click New page. You'll choose how to start and what kind of page it is.

Blank vs. Draft with AI

When you create a page, you pick a starting point:

  • Blank — Start with an empty canvas and build the page yourself using the block editor.
  • Draft with AI — Describe the page in one line (for example, "A services page explaining our custom cabinet install process and lead times") and the AI writes a complete first draft — headline, sections, and copy — for you to edit. This option appears only on plans that include AI; if it's hidden, your plan doesn't have AI website assistance. See AI Website Assistant for details.

Tip: Either way, the new page is created as a draft. Nothing goes live until you publish it. AI never publishes anything automatically — its output always lands as an editable draft for you to review.

Choosing a page type

Every page has a type (kind) that tells TimberCloud what the page is for. Pick the one that fits:

Page typeWhat it's for
HomeYour storefront landing page. Always lives at the site root (/). There is only one Home page.
About / StoryYour shop's story, history, and team.
Service / LandingA single service, product line, or campaign landing page.
FAQFrequently asked questions.
ContactHow customers reach you — hours, location, contact form, map.
LegalTerms of service, privacy policy, shipping/returns policy, and similar.
CustomAnything else — a portfolio, a lookbook, a promotion, etc.

The page type mostly helps you (and the AI) keep pages organized and pick sensible starting blocks. You can put any content blocks on any page type — see the Content Blocks reference.

Setting the URL slug

Each page has a URL path (slug) that determines its web address. For example, a slug of about makes the page live at embed.timbercloud.com/site/your-slug/about (or the matching path on your custom domain).

  • Type the slug when you create the page, or change it later in the editor.
  • Use lowercase words separated by hyphens (for example, custom-doors or shipping-policy).
  • Nested paths are supported — a slug like legal/privacy creates a page under a legal path.

The Home page is special

  • The Home page always lives at the root (/) and its slug is locked — you can't give it a different path.
  • There is only ever one Home page per site.
  • If you duplicate the Home page, the copy becomes a Custom page with its own slug (it can't become a second Home).

Finding pages

Recently edited

The Pages list keeps your most recently edited pages near the top so you can jump back into whatever you were last working on without hunting for it. The list falls back to the last-updated time so the newest work always surfaces first.

Full-text search

Use the search box on the Pages list to search across all your pages — not just titles and slugs, but the actual content inside each page (section body text, subtitles, and SEO fields). This makes it easy to find, say, every page that mentions "lead time" before you update a policy. Clear the search box to return to the full list.

Duplicating a page

To reuse an existing page as a starting point, open the page's row menu (or the menu in the editor topbar) and choose Duplicate.

A duplicate is created as a fresh draft with these defaults:

  • The title gets a "(copy)" suffix, and the slug gets a "-copy" suffix (incremented if that slug is already taken).
  • Editorial status resets to Draft, and the copy is not shown in your navigation or footer until you add it.
  • The copy does not inherit the original's redirect history, so renaming the original later won't redirect to the copy.
  • Duplicating the Home page produces a Custom page with a real slug (never a second Home).

This is a quick way to spin up similar service or landing pages without rebuilding them from scratch.

Deleting a page

To remove a page, open its row menu (or the editor topbar menu) and choose Delete. Deleting a page removes it and its content.

Important: Deletion is permanent. If you only want to take a page offline temporarily, unpublish it instead of deleting it — see Navigation & Publishing. If you might want the content back later, duplicate it first or rely on the editor's revision history before deleting.

Page limits by plan

The number of pages you can have is set by your plan:

PlanPage limit
Commerce10 pages
Build25 pages
Production100 pages
EnterpriseUnlimited

During the 14-day free trial, you get the Build allowance of 25 pages.

When you reach your plan's limit, the New page action prompts you to upgrade. Your existing pages are never deleted or hidden because of the cap — you just can't add new ones until you free up a slot (delete an unused page) or move to a higher plan. See Subscriptions & Plans to compare tiers.

Editorial status

Each page carries an editorial status that's separate from whether it's published. It's a simple workflow marker to help your team track what's ready:

  • Draft — A work in progress.
  • In review — Ready for someone to review.
  • Approved — Reviewed and signed off.

Set the status from the page editor (and see it at a glance on the Pages list). Editorial status is independent of the live/published state — a page can be Approved but still unpublished, or Draft but already published. To actually take a page live, you Publish it; see Navigation & Publishing.
