Share a 3D Design with Your Customer

Sometimes the fastest way to close a kitchen is to text the homeowner a link and let them look at it on their couch. The Designer mints a no-login share link — hosted by your storefront and branded to your shop — that lets a customer explore the 3D room, read the quote, and approve it, all from their phone. When they approve, your order updates.

Availability: Build plan and up (Designer is badged Beta and needs the designer-page permission). The customer needs nothing — no account, no login, no app.

What the customer sees

You send one link. The customer opens it in any browser and can:

  • Orbit the 3D room — spin and view their kitchen in 3D, no login required.
  • Swap finishes — try different door/material finishes and watch the room update.
  • Read the itemized quote — a homeowner-readable summary, one friendly line per cabinet (like "BC24 ×2"), never raw shop part names.
  • Approve the design, or request changes — a clear decision at the bottom of the page.

When the customer approves, your order updates on the shop side — you see their decision come through without any back-and-forth.

Note: The customer's choices are Approve or Request changes. Approve asks for a quick confirmation (a mis-tap on a phone shouldn't approve a kitchen). Requesting changes is the start of a conversation — the shop sees the request and sends a revised link.

It's white-labeled to your brand

The share page wears your branding — your colors and identity — not TimberCloud's. The only TimberCloud mark is a small "Powered by TimberCloud" line at the bottom of the page, never on a button or control. To the homeowner it reads as your shop's page.

How to send one

  1. In the Designer, assign the customer and make sure the room is priced (a material is assigned).
  2. Save the design.
  3. Open the Quote & share panel and, under Deliverables, choose Customer quote → mint the read-only share link.
  4. Copy the link and text or email it to the homeowner.

That's it — they open it with no login and can respond right away.

When it refuses (and why)

The share link is careful not to send a customer something broken. It refuses cleanly, with a stated reason, when:

  • The design has unsaved work — save first so the customer sees the current room.
  • The numbers don't add up — the quote won't go out if totals don't reconcile.

You'll get a clear message rather than a silently broken link.

Important: The link is tied to the saved revision. If you keep editing after minting a link, re-share so the customer is looking at the current design. When in doubt, mint a fresh link from the Quote & share panel after saving.

The share page is served by your embeddable storefront, which is the same white-label engine that powers your online catalog and checkout. If you're setting up or customizing that storefront, see the Embed / Storefront documentation.
