Installation & Setup

This guide walks you through downloading, installing, and setting up the TimberCloud Mobile App on your device.

Prerequisites

Before installing the mobile app, ensure you have:

  • An active TimberCloud account on Standard or Professional plan
  • A compatible device (iOS 15+ or Android 10+)
  • Internet connection for initial setup and data sync

Download the App

iOS (iPhone & iPad)

  1. Open the App Store on your device
  2. Search for "TimberCloud"
  3. Tap Get to download and install
  4. Alternatively, visit this link (opens in a new tab) from your device

Android

  1. Open Google Play Store on your device
  2. Search for "TimberCloud"
  3. Tap Install to download
  4. Alternatively, visit this link (opens in a new tab) from your device

Initial Login

When you first open the app, you'll see the login screen.

Step 1: Enter Your Credentials

  1. Enter your email address — the same one you use to log into TimberCloud web
  2. Enter your password
  3. Tap Sign In

Your credentials are the same as your TimberCloud web account. If you've forgotten your password, use the web app to reset it.

Step 2: Company Selection

If your account has access to multiple companies, you'll be prompted to select which company to work with.

  • Single company access: The app automatically selects your company
  • Multiple company access: Tap on the company you want to work with

You can switch companies later from the Settings menu.

Step 3: Location Selection

After logging in, you can select your default location (warehouse, facility, or production site). This filters the data shown throughout the app.

  1. Tap the location selector on the Home screen
  2. Choose your location from the list
  3. The app remembers your selection for future sessions

If your company only has one location, it will be selected automatically.


Home Dashboard

After logging in, you'll see the Home dashboard with:

  • Welcome message with today's date
  • Location selector to filter by facility
  • Statistics cards showing:
    • Orders in production
    • QC pending orders
    • Ready to ship orders
    • Pending receiving (Purchase Orders)
  • Quick action buttons for common tasks:
    • Scan Station
    • Receive Inventory
    • QC Inspection
    • Deliveries

Tap any card or button to navigate to that feature.


Granting Permissions

The app will request permissions as you use features that require them.

Camera Permission

Required for the Station Scanning feature. When you first open the scanner:

  1. The app will ask for camera permission
  2. Tap Allow to enable barcode/QR code scanning
  3. If you deny permission, you can still use manual entry

To enable later (iOS):

  1. Open SettingsTimberCloud
  2. Toggle Camera to On

To enable later (Android):

  1. Open SettingsAppsTimberCloud
  2. Tap PermissionsCameraAllow

Navigation

The app uses a drawer menu for main navigation. Tap the menu icon (☰) in the top-left corner to access:

  • Home — Dashboard with statistics and quick actions
  • Scan Station — Station scanning for production tracking
  • Receive Inventory — Purchase order receiving
  • QC Inspection — Quality control workflow
  • Deliveries — Shipping and delivery management
  • Settings — Account and app preferences

Switching Companies

If you have access to multiple companies:

  1. Open the drawer menu
  2. Tap Switch Company or go to Settings
  3. Select a different company from the list
  4. The app will reload with data from the selected company

Settings & Preferences

Access Settings from the drawer menu to manage:

Account Information

  • View your profile (name, email, role)
  • See current company information
  • Manage location preferences

App Preferences

  • Notification settings
  • Default location selection
  • App version information

Logging Out

To sign out of the app:

  1. Open the drawer menu
  2. Tap Settings
  3. Scroll down and tap Sign Out
  4. Confirm when prompted

Your login credentials are securely stored on the device. Signing out removes all stored credentials and local data.


Troubleshooting

Can't log in?

  • Verify your email and password are correct
  • Ensure you have an active internet connection
  • Check that your subscription is on Standard or Professional plan
  • Try logging into the web app first to verify your account

App crashes on startup?

  • Ensure your device meets the minimum requirements (iOS 15+ or Android 10+)
  • Try uninstalling and reinstalling the app
  • Check for app updates in the App Store or Google Play

Camera not working?

  • Check that camera permissions are granted in device settings
  • Ensure no other app is using the camera
  • Try restarting the app

Data not syncing?

  • Check your internet connection
  • Pull down on any list screen to manually refresh
  • Sign out and sign back in if issues persist
