QC Inspection
The QC Inspection feature enables quality control inspections directly from the shop floor. Inspect orders, mark items as checked, and complete the QC process without leaving your workstation.
Overview
Mobile QC inspection allows quality control staff to:
- View orders awaiting inspection
- Inspect items line-by-line
- Track inspection progress visually
- Complete QC with a tap
- Stay on top of due dates and priorities
Accessing QC Inspection
From the Home dashboard:
- Tap the QC Inspection quick action button, or
- Open the drawer menu and tap QC Inspection
The Home dashboard shows a QC Pending count card indicating how many orders need inspection.
QC Order List
The QC screen displays orders requiring inspection with filter tabs:
All Tab
Shows all orders in QC-related statuses.
Pending Tab
Orders awaiting inspection that haven't been started.
In Progress Tab
Orders where inspection has started but isn't complete.
Order Cards
Each order card displays:

| Progress | Items inspected vs. total (e.g., "2/5 inspected") |
| Progress Bar | Visual inspection progress |
| Due Date | Order due date with alerts |

Due Date Alerts
Orders display due date badges to help prioritize:
- Red "Overdue" — Past the due date
- Orange "Due Soon" — Due within 2 days
- No badge — Due date is further out
Searching Orders
Use the search bar to filter orders by:
- Order number
- Customer name
Results update as you type.
Inspection Process
Step 1: Select an Order
- Find the order requiring inspection
- Tap the order card to open the detail view
Step 2: Review Order Details
The detail screen shows:
- Header — Order number, customer, location, due date
- Progress bar — Overall inspection progress
- Line items — Each item with inspection status
Step 3: Inspect Line Items
For each item on the order:
- Review the item details (product, quantity, specifications)
- Physically inspect the item
- Tap the item row to toggle its inspected status
- A checkmark appears for inspected items
Step 4: Complete Inspection
Once all items are inspected:
- Tap Complete Inspection
- Confirm when prompted
- The order status updates automatically
Line Item Inspection
Marking Items Inspected
- Tap an item row to mark it as inspected
- A checkmark icon appears on inspected items
- The item row highlights to show it's been checked
- Tap again to un-mark if needed
Inspection Progress
As you inspect items:
- The progress bar fills in real-time
- The fraction updates (e.g., "3/5 inspected")
- Progress is saved automatically
Visual Indicators

Completing QC
Manual Completion
Once all items are inspected:
- The Complete Inspection button becomes active
- Tap to complete
- Confirm the action
- Order moves to the next status in your workflow
Auto-Complete Option
If some items remain uninspected, you can still complete:
- Tap Complete Inspection
- A prompt asks if you want to mark remaining items as inspected
- Choose Mark All & Complete to auto-complete
- Or Cancel to continue manual inspection
This is useful when remaining items don't require individual inspection.
Workflow Example
A typical QC workflow:
- Order arrives at QC station
- Open the TimberCloud mobile app
- Go to QC Inspection
- Find the order (search by order number)
- Tap to open the order
- Physically inspect each item:
- Check dimensions
- Verify quality
- Confirm specifications
- Tap each item as you inspect it
- Once complete, tap Complete Inspection
- Move on to the next order
Prioritizing Work
Using Due Date Badges
Focus on orders marked Overdue first, then Due Soon.
Using Filters
- Pending tab — Start with orders not yet begun
- In Progress tab — Resume partially completed inspections
Using Search
If you have a specific order to inspect, search by order number to find it quickly.
Partial Inspections
You don't need to complete all items in one session:
- Inspect the items you can
- Mark them as inspected
- Leave the app — progress is saved
- Return later to continue
- The order appears in the In Progress tab
Tips for Efficient QC
Before Inspection
- Review the Pending count on the Home dashboard
- Check Overdue orders first
- Have any reference materials or specifications ready
During Inspection
- Work through items systematically
- Mark items immediately after physical inspection
- Use the progress bar to track remaining work
After Inspection
- Verify all items are marked before completing
- Use auto-complete only when appropriate
- Check the dashboard for remaining orders
Troubleshooting
Order not appearing
- Check your location filter — orders are filtered by location
- Verify the order is in a QC-related status
- Try the "All" tab to see all QC orders
- Pull down to refresh the list
Cannot mark item as inspected
- Check your internet connection
- Ensure you have permission to perform QC
- Try refreshing the order detail
Complete button not working
- Ensure at least one item has been marked inspected
- Check your internet connection
- Verify you have permission to complete QC orders
Progress not saving
- The app saves progress automatically
- Check your internet connection
- Try closing and reopening the order
QC Best Practices
Quality Checks
When inspecting items, consider:
- Dimensional accuracy — Measurements match specifications
- Surface quality — No defects, scratches, or damage
- Material — Correct material and finish
- Assembly — Components properly assembled
- Quantity — Correct number of pieces
Documentation
For items that fail inspection:
- Use the web app to add notes or photos
- Update order status to reflect issues
- Communicate with production team
Workflow Integration
QC inspection typically fits into your workflow as:
- Production completes → Order moves to QC status
- QC inspection performed (mobile or web)
- QC complete → Order moves to shipping/delivery status
