Create custom product labels with barcodes, QR codes, and order information. Labels are used for identification, tracking, and shop floor organization.

TimberCloud Storefront — Product Catalog

The Labels feature provides a visual drag-and-drop editor for creating product labels. Design labels with company information, order details, barcodes, and custom fields.

Creating a Label Layout

Step 1: Open Labels

Navigate to your product and click the Labels tab.

Step 2: Add or Select Layout

  • Click "Add Label Layout" to create a new layout
  • Or select an existing layout to edit

Step 3: Configure Label Size

Set your physical label dimensions:

Step 4: Add Elements

Drag elements from the toolbox onto your label canvas.

Printing Labels

From an Order

  1. Open the order
  2. Go to Documents or Print
  3. Select Labels
  4. Choose the label layout
  5. Print or download PDF

Batch Printing

Print labels for multiple orders at once from the Orders list.


Common Label Designs

Part Identification Label

Elements:

  • Order Number (top)
  • Width × Height (center, large)
  • Material name (below dimensions)
  • QR Code (bottom, links to order)

Shipping Label

Elements:

  • Company name and logo (top)
  • Order Number (prominent)
  • Customer name
  • Barcode (bottom)

QC Tracking Label

Elements:

  • Order Number
  • Line item details
  • QR Code (links to QC checklist)
  • Date

Best Practices

Label Design

  • Keep essential information prominent
  • Use appropriate font sizes for scanning distance
  • Leave adequate margins around barcodes
  • Test print before production runs

Barcode Placement

  • Ensure adequate quiet zone (white space)
  • Position for easy scanning
  • Avoid placing over folds or edges
  • Test with your scanning equipment

Sheet Configuration

  • Match physical label sheet dimensions exactly
  • Account for printer margins
  • Test alignment with sample prints
  • Adjust gaps for your label stock

Troubleshooting

Barcodes Not Scanning

  • Increase barcode size
  • Check print quality
  • Verify quiet zone is sufficient
  • Test with different scanner settings

Labels Misaligned

  • Verify sheet configuration matches your label stock
  • Check printer margin settings
  • Adjust top and side margins
  • Test with measurement marks

Missing Data

  • Ensure fields exist on the product
  • Check that orders have values filled
  • Verify field references are correct

Print Quality Issues

  • Use appropriate resolution
  • Check printer settings
