Copy Product & Templates

Speed up product creation by copying existing products or using pre-built templates. Both methods preserve complex configurations like attributes, line items, pricing formulas, and parts.
Overview
When creating a new product, you have three options:
| Method | Best For |
|---|---|
| Create New | Unique products with no similar existing products |
| Templates | Starting with pre-configured product types |
| Copy Existing | Variations of your own products |
Using Templates
Templates are pre-built product configurations that give you a head start on common product types.

Managing Copied Products
After copying, the new product is independent:

Best Practices
- Rename immediately - Change the name to avoid confusion

Search and Filter
Both Templates and Products tabs support search:
Search Behavior

- Real-time filtering as you type
Pagination
When there are many items, results are paginated:
- 8 items per page
- Navigation at bottom of modal
- Maintains search filter across pages

If you want to create templates for your organization:
Note: Template management is typically done by administrators.
Templates are products marked as template products that appear in the global template library.
