Best Practices

Category Organization

  1. Keep it Simple: Use 5-10 top-level categories maximum
  2. Be Descriptive: Names should be self-explanatory
  3. Think Like Customers: Organize by how customers shop
  4. Use Groups: Group related categories together

Attribute Management

  1. Reuse Attributes: Create once, use across products
  2. Consistent Naming: Use standard terminology
  3. Limit Options: Too many choices overwhelm customers
  4. Visual Aids: Add images to help customers choose

Addon Strategy

  1. Value-Add Items: Focus on genuinely helpful extras
  2. Clear Pricing: Be transparent about addon costs
  3. Relevant Suggestions: Match addons to product types
  4. Don't Overwhelm: 3-5 addons per product maximum
